Jasmina Ilic has established herself as one of the most dangerous shooters in the Big 12 Conference. She has terrific range and her size and athleticism allows her to play either shooting guard or small forward. Ilic is CU’s active leader in 3-point field goals at 94, eighth on CU’s all-time list, and has a shot at reaching the school’s top five. She is on pace to become the 20th player in team history to reach 1,000 career points and would do so despite playing in just six games her freshman year. 2005-06 (Junior): Ilic was Colorado’s go-to outside shooter in 2005-06 averaging 14.8 points per game and logging a team-best 55 3-point field goals, which ranks 12th on CU’s single-season charts. She was ninth in the Big 12 in 3-point field goals made per game (1.9) and her overall scoring ranked 10th. Her shooting touch also was evident at the free-throw line, helping the Buffaloes to the top free-throw percentage in the Big 12 in 2005-06 (.740). Ilic hit 79.2 percent from the line (76-of-92) to rank ninth on the league charts. She had four games with 10 or more free-throw attempts and made at least 73 percent all four times including a career-best 10-of-12 effort against Northern Arizona (12/19). Ilic started all 29 games she was available for, missing only the home game against Missouri with a shoulder injury. Ilic became the first player in team history to score 33 or more points twice in the same season. In the season-opening win over Cal State-Fullerton she had 34 points and 10 rebounds, accounting for her lone double-double of the season. In the Big 12 opener she scored 36 against Nebraska, a mark that tied for the single-game season-high in the conference and is the third-best performance in school history. Ilic scored in double digits in 18 of 29 games and hit the 20-point mark on nine occasions. Not included in those nine 20-point performances was a 29-point effort against the Colorado School of Mines during the exhibition schedule where she outscored the opponent as CU claimed a 55-28 win. 2004-05 (Sophomore): Ilic led Colorado in 3-point field goals in 2004-05, knocking down 38-of-102 (.373) from beyond the arc. She scored the most total points (280) on the team, and was just edged out in average (10.0 ppg) by Jackie McFarland who had 271 points in one less game (10.04 ppg). Ilic topped the Buffs and ranked 18th in scoring average during the Big 12 Conference schedule at 11.4 points per game and improved her shooting percentage from downtown to .412 (28-of-70). During league games, she ranked eighth in the Big 12 in 3-point field-goal percentage and ninth in 3-point field goals made per game (1.75). She lit up the scoreboard with a career night at No. 19/18 Iowa State (2/2) scoring 22 points on 8-of-19 shooting, including 6-of-12 from the 3-point arc. Ilic also tallied 10 rebounds against the Cyclones to record her first career double-double. The Iowa State contest capped off a four-game stretch where she hit 46 percent from the field (26-of-57), 44 percent from downtown (11-of-25) and averaged 17.3 points per game. Ilic also hit the 20-point plateau with a 21-point outburst against No. 16/16 Kansas State (1/29) in a nationally televised game on Fox Sports Net. Her best overall shooting night came against eventual NCAA champion Baylor as she scored 19 points on 8-of-11 from the field including a perfect 3-of-3 from the 3-point line. Ilic started 14 of 28 games, splitting the starting role with Sarah Lini, Jackie McFarland and Yari Escalera, depending on match ups for individual games. 2003-04 (Freshman): Ilic was a late addition to the Buffalo roster, joining the CU squad on Dec. 25, 2003 after a long trip from Serbia. She saw her first action at home against Missouri (1/18), scoring three points in three minutes of play. She played in six games for the Buffaloes, with a season high of four points coming at Oklahoma (2/17). She saw her most minutes of the season at UC Santa Barbara, playing 11 minutes in CU’s NCAA Tournament defeat. For the season she averaged 1.8 ppg. High School: A 2003 graduate of Laza Kostic High School in Novi Sad, Serbia, she holds the school record for points in a game with 68. Ilic played with several junior national teams, helping the 1999 contingent to the European Championship in Bulgaria and a second place finish in 2000 in Budapest, Hungary. She was named best player at the 1999 championship in Bulgaria and was the youngest player to ever play for the Serbia senior national team in 2003. Ilic played with Vojvodina in the European leagues, placing second in I Division three-straight years. Academics: Ilic is an international affairs major at Colorado. Her dad was a professional soccer player and her mom was a professional handball player and team captain. Ilic is the first player from Serbia to wear a Buffaloes uniform.
