Head Coach Ann Elliott
"I just think that focus across the board. I mean we obviously subbed a little bit but we have to be ready when it's your turn to go in and play and to do the little things. I think it took a little to adjust in the second half."
Â
"I think Soph did a great job stepping in there, I think that she is always ready. She approaches every day as if she is going to get the opportunity to start. Obviously she plays behind Paige who is so consistent and she doesn't get many opportunities because of that. We have just been battling a couple little injuries here and there. We have a tough stretch right now, so after a long road trip we needed to rest a couple days. We don't like to do that during a game, but we had to."
Â
"I think it is huge. Obviously we have had a long go at our first seven, now eight games. To be able to get the kids on the field is something we want to do and give them the opportunity. Especially our kids like Soph, who have been around and are prepared. I think to give them a chance and show that we trust them is huge. They did a great job today."
Â
"I think across the board our midfielders got to grow our depth and get back in. Blair is obviously back playing for just a couple of weeks, and I think that all the experience she can get and the more time on the field helps her feel more comfortable. I was proud how she played the whole game and especially in the second half, taking a little more control."
Â
Katie Macleay, Senior Attacker
"I thought it was great. Overall, across the board I thought everybody stepped up and was able to score. Also, it was great to see that we got everybody on the field and everybody had the opportunity to get out there and show what they're all about."
Â
"We have players that can step up and play. That goes for defense, goalie as you can see how Sophia Gambitsky stepped up today. I think that's really important to have depth on our team."
Â
Sophia Gambitsky, Senior Goalkeeper
"It was great. Paige left some big shoes for me to fill but I tried to make her and the team as proud as I could. I just tried to stay relaxed and see the ball."
Â
"They probably had a good halftime pep talk. I think we also got a little too comfortable which is okay. That'll happen but learning to bounce back from that is something that we are going to have to learn how to do. "
Â
"Our defense is incredible. They're so consistent and really reliable. I really can't say anything other than that they've been awesome. I'm really fortunate to be behind them."
Â
"It's been awesome to be able to contribute on the field. Getting out there and being comfortable was something I had to get over and get used to quick. I was really happy. I'm always happy to be on the field and be with my teammates out there."
